There is no "war" between large companies and the Federation of Spanish women over their decision to boycott the FA Cup competition due to lack of support.
Player in Spain ranked in the top, and Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez, was among six players who signed a letter stating earlier this week that it will not compete because of the lack of "total support and interest shown by women's tennis by the association."
Federation responded by publishing on Saturday a 13-point plan on its Web site, www.rfet.es.
"With regard to the letter we received, I would say we are not, and we do not want to be in any kind of war," said federation president Jose Luis Escanuela.
"Union's commitment to women's tennis is a very large and our success is always achieved through team work, and I do not see any explanation other than the possible error in communication, and error just righted."
The women's tennis was about to receive € 200000 from the European Union, the largest amount in its history.
"In the Federation Cup, and benefits a group of women from the same logistical assistance for the men's team, winner of the Davis Cup last year," he added.
