UCSB women suffer third straight loss on the road


The road was not generous with the football team in the women’s branch of Santa Barbara.
Gauchos suffered a third defeat in a row on Sunday outside the home, and get replaced by Marquette 1-0 in the classic gold and Minnesota.
Deflected the Golden Eagles’ forward Megan Kelly shot midfielder and Rachel Brown in the middle of the goal on 72 minutes to give Marquette (3-2-2) in points per game.
The branch of Santa Barbara (3-3-0) two games ahead of the game 18-8, but both teams had six shots on goal.
The two of six shots Gauchos’ on goal in the last 15 minutes, and one each from Alissa Sanchez on 76 minutes and last Kailyn Kugler in 86 minutes. Kugler shot was saved by defender because he headed into the goal.
For the second straight game, and goalkeeper student Makenna Henry solid. Henry was down for six saves the best season on Friday against Minnesota, the top five in the narrow loss to Marquette.
And will remain a branch of Santa Barbara on the road for games on September 10, Loyola Marymount and 12 in September at the University of California.
