California’s famous Crystal Cathedral files for bankruptcy protection

They are still holding services on Sunday in Garden Grove landmark Crystal Cathedral, but these days some of the prayers of intercession are of a different kind. On October 18, the Crystal Cathedral, a monument evangelist Robert Schuller e ‘s to God (or according to some critics, is the same) and the cradle of his famous book, “Hour of Power” TV program for the protection of Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
Pulled glass paned marvel already developed dozens of staff, and the “Hour of Power” from seven stations and canceled its annual “Glory to the Holiday Birth” and “Glory to the festivity of Easter” pageants, but they still find themselves more than $ 43 million in the red. And creditors, who have been negotiating a single block with the church since April, no longer willing to wait.
From the Associated Press:

“The church did not provide any kind of progress they want to pay their debts, and that they were willing to try to achieve this, and every time we tried they told us, ‘you can not tell us how to run our business,’” said Oliver.
“I put I’m upset because I have a relationship for 30 years with them, and you need to be in the line of attack, all your cards on the table.”
Sheila Schuller Coleman, daughter of the founder, and since her brother, Robert Anthony Schuller disagreed with her father in 2008, senior pastor of the Church, and blames on the economy:
“Everybody hurt today,” she said. “We are no exception.”
Family businesses Others (In addition, there was run by Trinity the Father and the Son, and the eldest daughter of the Holy, has been used in the Cathedral of Crystal, in one capacity or another, and was the second daughter, Jean and John Dunn Schuller her husband, as well as the third daughter Carol Schuller Miller and smaller Gretchen’s daughter) face problem during these tough economic times.
Other churches have too.

In his case despite the herd lined up and gently sheared themselves from the $ 2.4 million during the given period. (See the Saddleback pastor Rick Warren needs your money now!)
Unfortunately, the Schuler family was not able to repeat this achievement for the Crystal Cathedral. However, the Governing Council and the Church promising not to rely on buying any more credit and to keep its expenditures within the approximately $ 2000000 they receive each month in contributions and revenue.
