The rate of the New York State Unemployment seasonally adjusted 8.2% in December 2010, down from 8.3% in November. The number of unemployed New Yorkers a bit – from 797 600 to 792 800 in November, in December 2010.
“The growth of jobs in the state of New York-month consistent for the month during this economic recovery. Lost the state’s economy 22 600 private sector jobs in December 2010. Rate state seasonally adjusted unemployment fell to 8.2% in December, and remain the lowest in the country from 9.4%,” said Norman A. Steel, Deputy Director of the Division of Research and Statistics.
Note: When comparing different months, the seasonally adjusted data provide the most valid comparison, for example, November 2010 compared to December 2010. The data is seasonally adjusted value in comparisons from year to year from the same month, for example, December 2009 versus December 2010.
