Joel Burns

Wound when she moved to America after Nixon was driven from office, in San Francisco, where I did not know anyone. I had no money, but expectations are not old friends, and Blue Oyster Cult, put down a credit card at the Hotel Miyako and got me a room for as long as you need to rest. I met soon the camera shop owner who was a candidate for Musharraf County Harvey Milk. He gambled with my equipment I need to create a dark room and get my photography going on. I took one of the most bittersweet moments I will never forget a place in the back rooms of his camera shop in the Castro Street. He had been elected and it just shocked and national media that anyone openly gay – can be elected to office – openly and proudly and openly. There was a series of stories in the national media. I was born the stories of thousands and thousands of letters to Harvey. He did not speak to me about hate messages. Instead, he read me a letter for a teenager from the state of Kansas or Nebraska … I do not remember exactly where.
Tears still well in my eyes when I remember the letter and read it to me Harvey. Inspired at the age of adolescence by Harvey electoral victory – inspired by so much that he decided not to commit suicide, the “way out”, which offered long-Western literature and social mores of the gay people.
I was upstairs put my shoes and socks this morning, with CNN in the background when I heard about Ft. Worth City Council Joel Burns for the first time. Do me a favor and watch the video above of the municipal council Burns talks about his own story like mine in the back of the store camera. You can watch it without crying? (If so, it may be a Republican. To get professional help before it’s too late.)
And a standing ovation … In the state of Texas. Let’s hope he decides to run against the right-wing fanatic Kay Granger in the not too distant future. His speech was good coverage in the local press and Texas, seems proud to have someone like Joel in the news for a change instead of the preachers of hate such as this case Treasury Governor, Rick Perry, or corrupt big oil companies Shell Joe Barton.
Joel is scheduled to Fort Worth City Council for Burns to appear on national television today is still growing attention from the emotional speech this week, who arrived to gay youth.
Burns took time during a meeting Tuesday in the City Council to participate in a national campaign aimed at young people called gay “to get better.” The project started in September by the author and activist Dan Savage, in partial response to the situation of gay teenager in the state of Indiana, who killed himself after being taunted by classmates.
Burns fought through the tears as he said those who attended the meeting on Tuesday that he’d like to give a 13-year-old self, who struggled with being gay, profiles in the future.
Yes, it was hard in high school, out of the next was painful, but life until I got much better for me, “Burns said,” I want to say that any teen who may see this, give yourself a chance to see how a better life will get and you will get better. … So get a life, therefore, much better.
