BOSTON – As the number of voters remain undecided in the race dwindling Massachusetts ruling, President Barack Obama is close to town Saturday to try to stimulate demand on behalf of his friend and fellow Democrat, Gov. Deval Patrick.
Why Obama wants to avoid a repetition of what happened is to visit him at the last minute in January when it failed to secure the win for the Democratic Martha Coakley in a special election to succeed the late Senator Edward Kennedy.
Patrick not only the President share the roots of Chicago and a law degree at Harvard University, but also a team of political consultants, led by Obama campaign manager David Plouffe. Similarities and some analysts view the race as a leading Massachusetts to the prospects for President for re-election in 2012.
Deval Patrick set the template for the Obama campaign, “said Mark Andy and Boston College political science professor.” What worked for Deval Patrick in 2006, they were mainly on the CliffsNotes for them to win in 2008. Now, what if it works again, it will strengthen Obama’s self-confidence. ”
Patrick looked as if he was talking about Obama, when asked earlier this week whether the President really wants to drive his approval numbers backward with the work. The Suffolk University / WHDH TV poll this week that 44 percent of Massachusetts voters have a negative view of Obama, up from 38 percent in a similar poll in September.
Among independents, a majority of voters in the state, and the view was even worse: 56 percent had an unfavorable view, up from 44 percent in September.
The national economy and the country’s economy recovering – but not recovered, “said Patrick.” We have more work to do. I think it is the right of voters and candidates to be frank and honest with them about where we are and where we’re going. ”
Turning to the Governor’s leading rivals, Charles Baker, Republican, independent, Timothy Cahill, the governor said: “None of the other candidates have a plan; of their talking points and soundbites and slogans, this is not a way to resolve the problem.”
Baker refused, Patrick discount for re-election pilot and visit.
It’s no secret that the Governor and the President share the philosophy of management, has been definitely friends for a long time, and I think that philosophy Administration – which means more spending, higher taxes and fewer jobs – bad for the country and bad for the state, “he said.
Obama, then an Illinois senator, campaigned for Patrick twice during his campaign for governor the first in 2006. Returned in favor of Patrick in 2007, when he admitted to Obama during a rally on Boston Common.
Patrick ended up in the presence of Obama’s inauguration, and then invited the evening balls, and the Governor and his wife, Diane, and return to the White House for coffee and dessert.
Obama was in the state of Massachusetts in October 2009 to visit the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and talk about energy policy and attend the fund-raising, Patrick, and he and his family vacationed on Martha’s Vineyard, both in 2009 and again this past summer.
Obama recently stumped for Patrick in Massachusetts in April, when he attended the fund-raising, and the Democratic National Committee in Boston.
I want you to realize that you’ve got a senior leader in Deval Patrick. In what is a very difficult time with the governor, and moved forward – and not on the easy issues, but on the difficult issues, “said the President after that.” That the ruling would happen to keep the leadership of Massachusetts in the future. “Said Patrick nearly 10000 people have said they want to attend the rally on Saturday in the Conference Center Hynes, even though it has a capacity of just 7000. James Taylor, the singer will warm up the crowd, before the Governor and the President speech. This event will be preceded by a campaign to collect donations from before.
Andy said Boston College professor, said the visit is a low risk to Patrick.
People have pretty much decided who decided they were going to vote for him, and now it is a matter the turnout, “he said, adding,” This does not mean it will work. (Voters) do not really think about race in terms of the ruling of the President.
