John Fox, head coach of the Broncos

John Fox is the new head coach of the Broncos.The brand new vice president of operations for the Broncos, John Elway, was the one who broke the news.
"I am excited to announce that John Fox has agreed to become the 14th head coach in the history of the Denver Broncos," he said via Twitter the famous former quarterback, who won two Super Bowls with Denver and Hall of Fame.
John Fox, whose Panthers finished with the worst record in the NFL, 2010, 2-14, replaces Josh McDaniels, who was fired midway through his second season in Denver, where the team finished with the worst record in club history, 4-12 .
In eight seasons in Carolina, John Fox, 55 years old, went with a record of 73-71 in regular season and 5-3 in playoffs. Took a team in 2002 that came from a 1-15 season, and improved that mark to 7-9 the following year, to lead the Panthers to the Super Bowl in his second season as head coach.
The Broncos also estrevistaron defensive coordinator of the New York Giants, Perry Fewell, who served as interim coach of the Buffalo Bills in 2009, and Eric Studesville, who went 1-3 as interim coach of the Broncos after be promoted from his position as running backs coach after the dismissal of McDaniels.
Elway had received permission to talk to the Jaguars offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter, and sought permission to interview Texans offensive coordinator Rick Dennison, a former assistant with the Broncos has never been a head coach in the NFL. Denver was also considering calling the former head coach of the Giants, Jim Fassel, who served as tutor to Elway in college and professional level.
Other candidates were the defensive coordinator for the New Orleans Saints, Gregg Williams, and defensive coordinator of the San Diego Chargers Ron Rivera, who finally came to Fox as head coach of the Panthers.
