Many people in the United States may have never heard of Sweetest Day, which occurs on the third Saturday of October.
The people of the Great Lakes are most familiar with the day, started back in 1921 by candy makers.
As the name implies, Sweetest Day is about candy, but gifts that closely resemble the gifts are more familiar around Valentines Day.
The difference is that on Sweetest Day, you not only give gifts to your significant other, you give candy and other related items to your friends and family.
